Publishing Your Website vs Saving as a Draft

When you're done editing, you have two options: publish your website live, or save it as a draft to finish later.

Publishing Your Website

Click the Publish Website (or Deploy Website) button in the editor header. The deploy dialog opens.

Deploy Dialog Steps

  1. Deploy As (team members only) — choose between "Personal Website" or "Team Website"

  2. Usage bars — shows your current plan usage:

    • Total Websites & Deeplinks: X/Y

    • Active Websites & Deeplinks: X/Y

  3. Choose Domain — two options:

    • Bouncy Domains — select bouncy.ai (default) or any system domain. A searchable dropdown lets you browse all available domains.

    • Custom Domain — use one of your verified custom domains (paid plans only). If no domains are verified, a link takes you to the Custom Domains page.

  4. Custom Slug (for Bouncy/system domains):

    • Enter a unique slug (e.g., my-page)

    • Your final URL will be domain.com/my-page

  5. Path Options (for custom domains):

    • Root Domain — publish at the domain root

    • Custom Path — publish at a sub-path

  6. Click Deploy Website to publish

After successful deployment, you're redirected to the Dashboard with a success message and the live URL.

Saving as a Draft

Click the Save as Draft button in the editor header (shown when creating a new website, not editing an existing one).

Your work is saved to Bouncy's servers. You can return to it later from the Drafts page.

Managing Drafts

Go to Create Website in the sidebar, then click the Drafts category to see all your saved drafts.

Each draft shows:

  • The profile name (or template name)

  • Last edited date

  • Creation date

  • Edit Draft button — resumes editing

  • Delete button — permanently removes the draft (with confirmation)

Drafts are sorted by most recently edited first.

Empty State

If you have no drafts, you'll see a prompt to create a new website.

Editing an Existing Published Website

To edit a website that's already published:

  1. Find it on your Dashboard

  2. Click the gear icon > Edit Website

  3. Make your changes

  4. Save — changes are applied to the live website immediately

Tips

  • Use drafts when you're not ready to publish — your work is safe

  • Preview thoroughly in all device sizes before publishing

  • You can always edit a published website later from the Dashboard

  • The slug must be unique — if it's taken, try a different one
