Create deep links that open Instagram content directly in the Instagram app.

Instagram User Profile

Opens a specific Instagram profile in the app.

Parameter:

  • Username — the Instagram username (without the @ symbol)

    • 1–30 characters

    • Letters, numbers, dots, and underscores only

Example: Enter johndoe to create a link that opens instagram.com/johndoe directly in the Instagram app.

How to Create

  1. Go to Create App Link

  2. Select Instagram

  3. Choose User Profile

  4. Enter the username

  5. Choose your domain and slug

  6. Click Create

Instagram Post/Reel

Opens a specific Instagram post or reel in the app.

Parameters:

  • Shortcode (required) — the unique identifier for the post

    • Exactly 11 characters

    • Example: CXxyz1234AB

  • Media ID (optional) — the numeric media ID

Finding the Shortcode

The shortcode is in the Instagram post URL:

  • instagram.com/p/CXxyz1234AB/ — the shortcode is CXxyz1234AB

  • instagram.com/reel/CXxyz1234AB/ — same format for reels

How to Create

  1. Go to Create App Link

  2. Select Instagram

  3. Choose Post/Reel

  4. Enter the shortcode (and optionally the media ID)

  5. Choose your domain and slug

  6. Click Create

Tips

  • Use Aggressive bounce behavior for Instagram bio links — it maximizes the chance of opening the app

  • Instagram App Links work for both profiles and individual posts/reels

  • The link will open in the Instagram app on mobile devices. On desktop, it opens the web version.
