Managing a Purchased Domain (Renewal, Auto-Renew, Nameservers)

If you purchased a domain through Bouncy's domain marketplace, you can manage all aspects of the domain directly from your Bouncy dashboard.

Viewing Domain Details

  1. Go to Custom Domains in the sidebar

  2. Find the domain you purchased

  3. Click on the domain or its Manage button

You'll see the following information:

  • Registration date — when the domain was originally registered

  • Expiry date — when the domain registration expires

  • Renewal price — the cost to renew for another year

  • Status — whether the domain is active, pending, or expired

Renewing Your Domain

Manual Renewal

If your domain is approaching its expiry date, you can renew it manually:

  1. Go to Custom Domains and find the purchased domain

  2. Click Manage to open the domain details

  3. Click the Renew Now button

  4. You'll be redirected to a Stripe checkout page to pay the renewal fee

  5. After payment, the domain's expiry date will be extended by one year

We recommend renewing at least 2 weeks before the expiry date to avoid any disruption in service.

Auto-Renewal

You can enable auto-renewal so your domain renews automatically before it expires:

  1. Go to your domain's management page

  2. Find the Auto-Renewal toggle

  3. Turn it on

When auto-renewal is enabled, Bouncy will automatically charge your payment method on file and renew the domain before it expires. You'll receive an email notification when auto-renewal is processed.

To disable auto-renewal, simply toggle it back off. You'll then need to renew manually before the expiry date.

What Happens If My Domain Expires?

If your domain expires and is not renewed:

  1. Links stop working — all deeplinks, app links, and websites using the domain will become inaccessible

  2. Grace period — most TLDs offer a grace period (typically 30-45 days) during which you can still renew at the standard price

  3. Redemption period — after the grace period, the domain enters a redemption period with higher renewal fees

  4. Domain release — eventually, the domain is released and becomes available for anyone to register

Don't let your domain expire if you have active links using it. Enable auto-renewal or set a calendar reminder.

Transferring Your Domain

If you want to transfer a domain purchased through Bouncy to another registrar:

  1. Contact Bouncy support to request a domain transfer

  2. The support team will provide the necessary authorization codes and unlock the domain

  3. Follow the receiving registrar's transfer process

Domain transfers are handled through support requests. There is no self-service transfer option at this time.

Deleting a Purchased Domain

If you no longer need a domain purchased through Bouncy:

  1. Go to your domain's management page

  2. Click the Delete option

  3. Confirm the deletion

Important considerations:

  • Deleting the domain removes it from your Bouncy account

  • This does not cancel the domain registration — you still own the domain until it expires

  • Any links using this domain will stop working

  • This action frees up a custom domain slot on your plan

Domain Registration vs. Bouncy Connection

It's important to understand the difference:

What controls it

Bouncy custom domain settings
