My Analytics Aren't Showing Any Data

If your Bouncy analytics dashboard is showing zero clicks, no visitor data, or appears empty, here are the most common reasons and how to fix them.

Common Causes and Solutions

1. No One Has Clicked the Link Yet

Symptom: Analytics are showing zero clicks across all metrics.

Solution: Verify that you have actually shared the link and that people are clicking it. Open the link yourself in a private/incognito window to generate a test click, then check if it appears in your analytics.

2. Analytics Delay

Symptom: You clicked the link recently but the analytics have not updated.

Solution: Analytics data may take a few moments to process and appear on the dashboard. Wait a minute or two and refresh the page. Most analytics update within seconds, but there can be brief delays during high-traffic periods.

3. The Link Is Inactive or Paused

Symptom: The link used to show analytics but has stopped recording new clicks.

Solution: Check the Deeplink Manager to confirm the link is set to Active. Inactive or paused links do not track clicks.

4. Ad Blockers Preventing Tracking

Symptom: You know people are using the link, but the click count seems lower than expected.

Solution: Some browser ad blockers and privacy extensions can block analytics tracking. This is a known limitation that affects all link analytics platforms. The clicks still redirect users correctly, but the tracking pixel or script may be blocked.

5. Using the Wrong Link

Symptom: You have analytics for some links but not the one you are checking.

Solution: Make sure you are checking the analytics for the correct deeplink. If you have multiple links, verify the slug or URL matches the one you are sharing.

6. Bot Filtering

Symptom: You expected more clicks than are showing.

Solution: Bouncy may filter out bot traffic and automated crawlers to provide more accurate analytics. This means that some clicks from bots will not appear in your reports, which is expected and helps give you a more accurate picture of real human traffic.

7. Custom Domain Not Fully Configured

Symptom: Links on your custom domain are working (redirecting) but not tracking analytics.

Solution: Ensure your custom domain is fully verified and configured in the Custom Domains section. If the domain is partially configured, redirects may work while analytics tracking may not.

How to Generate a Test Click

  1. Copy your deeplink URL.

  2. Open a private/incognito window in your browser.

  3. Paste the URL and press Enter.

  4. Wait for the redirect to complete.

  5. Close the incognito window.

  6. Go back to your Bouncy dashboard and check the analytics for that link.

  7. You should see at least 1 click appear within a few seconds.

What Analytics Data Is Available?

Bouncy analytics typically include:

  • Total clicks -- The number of times the link was clicked.

  • Unique visitors -- The number of distinct users who clicked the link.

  • Geographic data -- Where the clicks are coming from (country, city).

  • Device and browser data -- What devices and browsers were used.

  • Referrer data -- Where the clicks originated (e.g., social media, direct, email).

  • Time-based charts -- Click trends over time.

Still No Data?

If you have followed all of the above steps and your analytics are still not showing data, contact Bouncy support with:
