My Payment Failed -- What Should I Do?

Written by Bouncy Admin

If your payment has failed on Bouncy.ai, it is important to resolve it quickly to avoid losing access to your paid plan features and having your deeplinks deactivated.

What Happens When a Payment Fails

When a payment fails:

  1. Your account is placed in a "past due" status.

  2. A warning banner will appear on your dashboard and Profile page, letting you know that action is required.

  3. You have 7 days to update your payment method and resolve the issue.

  4. If not resolved within 7 days, your deeplinks will be automatically deleted and your account will be downgraded.

How to Fix a Failed Payment

Step 1: Go to Your Profile

  1. Log in to your Bouncy.ai account.

  2. Click Profile in the left sidebar.

  3. In the Subscription section, you will see a red warning: "Payment Required -- Your payment method failed. Update it below to prevent your deeplinks from being deactivated."

Step 2: Update Your Payment Method

  1. Click the Update Payment Method button (shown in red when your payment has failed).

  2. This opens the Stripe Billing Portal, where you can:

    • Add a new credit or debit card.

    • Update your existing card details.

    • Switch to a different payment method.

  3. After updating your payment information, Stripe will automatically retry the failed payment.

Step 3: Confirm Resolution

  1. Return to your Bouncy dashboard.

  2. The warning banner should disappear once the payment has been successfully processed.

  3. Your subscription status will return to normal.

Common Reasons for Payment Failure

Reason

Solution

Card expired

Update your card details in the billing portal.

Insufficient funds

Ensure your card has sufficient balance, then retry.

Card declined by bank

Contact your bank to authorise the transaction, or use a different card.

Billing address mismatch

Verify that the billing address matches what your bank has on file.

3D Secure authentication failed

Complete the 3D Secure verification when prompted by your bank.

The 7-Day Grace Period

After a payment failure, you have a 7-day grace period to resolve the issue:

  • During the grace period: Your deeplinks remain active and your plan features continue to work normally. However, the warning banner will be visible.

  • After 7 days without resolution: Your deeplinks will be automatically deleted and your account will be downgraded to the Free plan. This action cannot be undone -- you would need to recreate your links.

Preventing Future Payment Failures

  • Keep your payment card details up to date, especially the expiration date.

  • If you receive a new card from your bank, update it in the billing portal before the old one expires.

  • Ensure your card has sufficient funds or credit available for the billing date.

  • Add Bouncy billing emails to your safe sender list so you receive payment failure notifications promptly.
