If you no longer want to use Two-Factor Authentication on your Bouncy.ai account, you can disable it from your Profile Settings. You will need your authenticator app to confirm the action.
Before You Disable 2FA
Disabling 2FA reduces your account security. After disabling it, anyone with your email and password will be able to sign in without a second verification step. Only disable 2FA if you have a good reason to do so (e.g., switching to a new authenticator app and planning to re-enable immediately).
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in to your Bouncy.ai account.
Click Profile in the left sidebar.
Scroll down to the Two-Factor Authentication section. The status badge should show "Enabled" in green.
Click the Disable Two-Factor Authentication button.
A confirmation panel will appear asking you to verify your identity.
Open your authenticator app and find the Bouncy.ai entry.
Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app into the input field.
Click Confirm Disable.
If the code is valid, 2FA will be turned off and you will see a green confirmation message: "Two-factor authentication has been disabled."
Common Issues
"Invalid code. Please check your authenticator app and try again."
The 6-digit code you entered was incorrect or has expired. Codes refresh every 30 seconds -- wait for a new code and try again.
"Please sign out and sign back in, then try again."
This error means your login session is too old. Sign out, sign back in, and then try disabling 2FA again.
Re-Enabling 2FA
If you disabled 2FA temporarily (for example, to switch authenticator apps), you can re-enable it by following the setup guide:
New recovery codes will be generated when you re-enable 2FA.
