How to Pause or Cancel Your Subscription

Written by Bouncy Admin
Updated this week

If you need to take a break or no longer need Bouncy's paid features, you can pause or cancel your subscription through the Stripe Customer Portal.

How to Cancel Your Subscription

Step 1: Open the Billing Portal

  1. Go to Profile in the sidebar

  2. On your subscription card, click Manage Billing

  3. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal

Step 2: Cancel Your Plan

  1. In the Stripe Customer Portal, find your active subscription

  2. Click Cancel plan or Cancel subscription

  3. Follow the prompts to confirm cancellation

What Happens After Cancellation

  • You keep your current plan until the end of the billing period — cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for, not immediately

  • Your links remain active until the billing period ends

  • After the period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan:

    • Only 1 active link is allowed — extra links are deactivated (not deleted)

    • Custom domains are disconnected

    • Advanced features (analytics, geo-filtering, SEO settings, etc.) become unavailable

    • Team members lose access

Your links and data are never deleted when you cancel. If you resubscribe later, everything will still be there.

How to Pause Your Subscription

If you want to temporarily stop your subscription without fully cancelling:

  1. Go to Profile > Manage Billing to open the Stripe Customer Portal

  2. Look for a Pause subscription option (if available)

  3. Select the pause duration

  4. Confirm the pause

When paused:

  • You won't be charged during the pause period

  • Your plan features may be limited or suspended during the pause

  • The subscription automatically resumes after the pause period ends

Pause availability depends on how the subscription is configured. If you don't see a pause option, cancellation and reactivation is the alternative.

Before You Cancel

Consider these alternatives:

  • Downgrade instead — if you just need fewer features, switch to a lower plan. See How to Upgrade or Downgrade Your Plan.

  • Switch to annual billing — if cost is a concern, annual billing saves up to 50%. See Understanding Bouncy Pricing.

  • Deactivate links — if you've hit limits, deactivate links you're not using rather than cancelling.

Can I Get a Refund When I Cancel?

Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Since you continue to have access until that date, refunds are not automatically issued for the remaining time. For refund requests, see How to Dispute a Charge or Request a Refund.
