Sharing a Link's Analytics with a Read-Only Link

Written by Amaan

Share pages let you hand anyone a live, read-only report for one of your links or websites without giving them a Bouncy login. Send it to a model who wants her own numbers, a promoter who wants proof before or after a shoutout, or a client you are reporting to. Available on Scaling and above.

Creating a share link

  1. Open the link's Analytics page.

  2. Press Share in the toolbar at the top, next to Refresh.

  3. Give the report a label. This is the title the recipient sees, so use something they will recognise, for example the model's name or the campaign.

  4. Choose how long the link should work: 7, 30 or 90 days. It stops working the moment it expires.

  5. Press Create share link, then Copy. Send the link however you like.

The share link looks like app.bouncy.ai/s/ followed by a long random code. The code is the only key, so treat the link like a password: anyone who has it can open the report until it expires or you revoke it.

What the recipient sees

A clean page with the label at the top, the link's address, the expiry date, and the same cards you see in your own analytics:

  • Views, clicks and click-through rate

  • The performance chart over time

  • The Sources card: traffic type, campaigns and when visitors arrive

  • Countries, devices, platforms and top referrers

They can switch between the last 7 days, 30 days, 3 months and all time. The numbers are live: each time the page is opened it shows the current figures, refreshed at most once a minute.

What is never shown

  • The destination URL, or anything about where the link sends people

  • A/B test variations and their URLs

  • Adult gate settings and adult confirmation figures

  • Geo or language routing rules and the countries they affect

  • Any editing control, setting, or other link on your account

The recipient cannot change anything and cannot see anything else in your workspace.

Managing your share links

The Share window lists every share link for that link or website with its status (active, expired or revoked), how many times it has been opened, and when it expires.

  • Copy an active link again at any time.

  • Revoke a link with the bin icon. It stops working immediately and cannot be reopened. Create a new one if you need to share again.

  • Expired links disappear from the list about a day after they expire.

Team members can create and revoke share links for the team's links. The limit counts against the team owner's plan.

Limits by plan

  • Scaling: 5 active share links at a time. Revoke one to create another.

  • Dominance: unlimited.

  • Growth and below: share pages are not included. The Share window shows the plans that include them.

If a recipient sees a message instead of the report

  • This report has expired: the link passed its expiry date. Create a new one.

  • This report is no longer available: the link was revoked.

  • This report is paused: the link was opened an unusually large number of times and paused itself as a precaution. Revoke it and create a fresh one.

  • Report not found: the link was copied incompletely. Share links are case-sensitive, so send the whole thing.

  • Slow down a moment: too many requests from one connection in a minute. It clears itself shortly.

Tips

  • One link per person or purpose makes it easy to see who is looking and to revoke just one when you need to.

  • Use 7 days for a one-off proof and 90 days for someone who checks in regularly.

  • If a link leaks, revoke it. The report stops working straight away, everywhere.
