Live View is Bouncy's real-time monitoring feature. It lets you watch clicks happen as they come in, see who's visiting your links right now, and track activity minute by minute.
Enabling Live View
From the Per-Link Analytics Page
Open the analytics page for any link
Look for the "Enable Live View" button near the top of the page
Click the button to activate real-time tracking
When Live View is active, you'll see a green pulsing dot next to the button, indicating that the page is actively refreshing with new data.
Auto-Refresh
Once enabled, Live View automatically refreshes the analytics data every 2 minutes. You don't need to manually reload the page — new clicks will appear automatically as they come in.
To disable Live View, click the button again. The green pulsing dot will disappear and the page will stop auto-refreshing.
What Live View Shows
When Live View is active, you get access to additional real-time sections that aren't visible in standard analytics mode.
Live Activity Feed
The Live Activity Feed shows the last 10 visitors to your link in reverse chronological order (most recent first). For each visitor, you'll see:
Country — where the visitor is located (with flag emoji)
Device — what device they're using
Time — when they clicked (e.g., "2 minutes ago", "just now")
This gives you an instant sense of who's clicking your link right now and where they're coming from.
Real-Time Overview
The Real-Time Overview provides a snapshot of current activity:
Views Per Minute — a bar chart showing how many views are happening each minute over the recent period. This lets you see whether activity is steady, spiking, or winding down.
Active Users — a counter showing approximately how many people have visited your link in the very recent timeframe
Top Locations — the countries generating the most real-time traffic
Active Links — which of your links are receiving traffic right now
When to Use Live View
After Sharing a Link
Just posted a link on social media or sent it in a campaign email? Turn on Live View to see the immediate response. You can watch clicks come in and see whether your audience is engaging.
During a Launch or Event
If you're running a time-sensitive promotion or launching something new, Live View lets you monitor traffic in real time. You'll know immediately whether people are clicking.
Monitoring Ad Campaigns
When running paid ads, Live View shows you instantly whether the ads are driving clicks to your links. If you see no activity after enabling an ad, something might be wrong with your targeting or ad setup.
Testing a Link
After creating or updating a link, click it yourself and check Live View to confirm the click was recorded. This is a quick way to verify everything is working.
Tips for Using Live View
Don't leave Live View on indefinitely. While it won't cause any issues, the auto-refresh every 2 minutes means constant data fetching. Turn it off when you're done monitoring.
Keep the tab active. Live View works by refreshing the page data at regular intervals. If the browser tab is in the background, some browsers may throttle the refresh timer.
Combine with time range settings. Live View adds real-time data on top of whatever time range you have selected. You can keep your chart showing "Last 7 Days" for context while watching live clicks come in through the activity feed.
Use the Live Activity Feed for quick debugging. If someone reports that your link isn't working, ask them to click it while you watch the Live Activity Feed. If their click appears, the link is working — the issue might be with the destination rather than the link itself.
Check Active Users during peak hours. If you know when your audience is most active (from your historical analytics), turn on Live View during those hours to see your peak traffic in real time.
