How to Remove a Team Member

Written by Bouncy Admin
Updated this week

If someone no longer needs access to your Bouncy team, you can remove them. This guide explains how and what happens when a member is removed.

Who Can Remove Team Members?

  • Owners can remove anyone (Admins and Members)

  • Admins can remove Members only

  • Members cannot remove anyone

No one can remove the Owner. The Owner role is permanent unless transferred.

How to Remove a Team Member

Step 1: Open Team Management

Navigate to Team in the sidebar to see your members table.

Step 2: Find the Member

Locate the team member you want to remove in the members table. The table shows:

Column

Description

Member

The person's name or email

Role

Their role (Owner, Admin, or Member)

Status

Active or Pending

Joined

When they joined the team

Actions

Context menu for managing the member

Step 3: Open the Context Menu

Click the actions button (three dots or context menu icon) next to the member you want to remove.

Step 4: Select Remove

Click Remove from Team in the context menu. You may be asked to confirm the removal.

The member is removed immediately.

What Happens When a Member is Removed

  • Immediate access loss β€” the person can no longer access the team's resources

  • Their individual account remains β€” removing someone from your team doesn't delete their Bouncy account

  • Links they created β€” any links created under the team remain with the team and are not removed

  • A slot is freed up β€” on the Scaling plan, the member slot becomes available for a new invite

Removing a Pending Invite

If you sent an invite that hasn't been accepted yet, you can remove the pending invite using the same process:

  1. Find the pending member in the members table (they'll show a "Pending" status)

  2. Open the context menu

  3. Select Remove from Team or Cancel Invite

Can a Removed Member Be Re-Invited?

Yes. If you remove someone by mistake or they need access again later, you can send them a new invite. See How to Add a Team Member.
