Why Was I Charged Again?

If you see an unexpected charge from Bouncy on your bank or credit card statement, here are the most common reasons and what to do about it.

Common Reasons for a Charge

1. Regular Subscription Renewal

Bouncy subscriptions renew automatically. If you're on a paid plan, you'll be charged at the start of each billing cycle:

  • Monthly plans — charged every month on the same date you originally subscribed

  • Annual plans — charged once per year on your subscription anniversary

This is the most common reason for seeing a charge. You can verify your billing dates in Profile > Manage Billing.

2. You Upgraded Your Plan

When you upgrade to a higher plan mid-cycle, a prorated charge is applied for the difference between your old and new plan for the remaining days in the billing period.

Example: Upgrading from Growth ($35/mo) to Scaling ($75/mo) halfway through the month would result in an additional charge of approximately $20 for the remaining days.

3. Domain Renewal

If you purchased a domain through Bouncy, it renews annually. If you have auto-renewal enabled, the renewal charge appears automatically. Check your domain management page for renewal dates and prices.

4. Reactivated Subscription

If you previously cancelled and then resubscribed through the Pricing page, a new charge is created for the new subscription.

5. Failed Payment Retry

If a previous payment attempt failed (e.g., due to insufficient funds or an expired card), Stripe will automatically retry the charge. The successful retry may appear as a new charge.

How to Check Your Charges

  1. Go to Profile in the sidebar

  2. Click Manage Billing to open the Stripe Customer Portal

  3. View your invoices and payment history to see all charges, dates, and descriptions

Each invoice shows exactly what you were charged for, including:

  • Plan name and billing period

  • Prorated amounts for upgrades

  • Domain renewal fees

I Don't Recognize the Charge

If you see a charge and don't believe it's from Bouncy:

  1. Check the merchant name — Bouncy charges may appear as "Bouncy" or "Bouncy.ai" on your statement

  2. Check with other account holders — someone else in your household or team may have a Bouncy account

  3. Review your email — Stripe sends receipt emails for every charge. Search your inbox for receipts from Bouncy or Stripe
